Hey my 2 readers haven't been on here in a while so catching up... I had a fabulous thanksgiving with my friend in Philadelphia. I think I really needed to do this because it centered me a lot while I was there, and my very gracious host Scott was always nice to see again.
So I found my Philadelphia freedom while I was there .No it was very cold but kind of interesting because I have never experienced Christmas time on the east coast which coming from California is a whole other world . So walking around in the city with the holiday lights up and all kind a made me in a more romantic mood but whatever if it comes it comes. (but that is a whole other story)
One of the days we went to New York to do some christmas shopping. It was great because Christmas in New York is very cool and it is like sensory overload. Looked at all the windows and shopped for a trench coat with my friend and got him a burberry scarf(which I guess he regrets because everyone has one... ) But overall it was a lovely day. The pic above was from the Temple of Dendur at the Met although I look like I should be having tea in London.
A word about the Philadelphia Museum of Art , it is fuckin' amazing. It was way overwhelming but their collection is probably one of the if not the best in the world. They also have a a great thing on Friday nights with Jazz played in the Atrium of the museum and cocktails served. Needless to say I had a few Martinis and was a little tipsy looking at the collection. I also went to independence square and looked at the Liberty Bell ( Eh, I've seen better cracks on plumbers) Ben Frankens grave and took in the whole old school 1780' s feeling( great architecture) Me and Scott then went to Betsy Ross' house. Where we encountered a lady with a fake british voice asking us if we needed "drapes" . Seemed to be a running theme with her she would talk about her drapes with everyone..We also went to the Natual history museum and was scared out of my head with the exhibits. I also went to Wanamakers that now is a Macys. Went to this Dickens Christmas thing that was a big surprise to me at how charming it was although it was all about more people with fake british accents . They also have a great light show in this giant atrium that was beautiful and made me long for the days of old school retail. Obviously it was a grand dame in her heyday so it made me a bit sad that Macys had watered it down to nothing.
Well, kids this was a pretty long blog ...but will update next week when we will talk about my corporate visit and dating(again)

HOLIDAY BLUES AND EXCITMENT!
So Happy Thanksgiving everybody! I have included some pictures of my Christmas windows I talked about in my previous blog. They actually came out really beautiful.

Funny though I feel like I am going through post partum depression. (did I spell that right?) I think that since this was my first Christmas that was all me and my work is done...mama feels like she just had her 15 pound baby...lol

In the end though what really made it was that it came off successful and totally me. I also asserted myself as different than my 2 other managers who I worked under . I was always considered the campy one so I find it satisfying to show that I can be other things and not pidgeonholed in my displays. So now that it is up I can relax and just go with the flow and enjoy my trip seeing my friend this holiday weekend.

Speaking of my trip, I was trying to figure out what to take with me and CHILD, I need to hit the gym 2 times a day for the next 4 months....lol I haven't gone because I have been so proccupied wth my job that MAMA has been pulling on her eating dress when she gets home and bustin' through the Oreos...(mmmmm sounds good) AHHHH ! damitt stop thinking of oreos...LOL But I will have to think of something fabulous to wear for a BBW ( big beautiful woman...lol) I don't really care any how...the whole point is too see my friend and spend some time with him.
Can't wait to see Philly bars...and alleys HAHA( inside joke)I will write while I am out there so talk later .

"Tinsel, Turkey, and Warhol"

So it is that time of year again! Cannot believe it has come so soon. CHRISTMAS WINDOW INSTALLATION!

As most of my 2 readers know I am a creative director for a store in Beverly Hills. In the display world this is like our time to show whose peacock feathers are the brightest and the biggest...lol. I am being a bit more secretive about it as in years past because it is my first time at the helm and want to surprise everyone. This years theme is a cool one which is Happy Andy Warholidays! So I have been submerging myself in all things Andy Warhol. I have to admit I am surprised on how you can make a christmas window out of such an artistic theme...Although I took a more disco approach to this years theme ( lets say that it also could be a Madonna Hung Up Christmas) If you are in the neighborhood stop by and see them.

So speaking of the holiday and Hung Up...I am going to Philly to visit a dear friend, we will call him TATAs. Very excited to see TATAs ! Have not seen him since he has moved to grad school..That is our drunk picture of us at Bingham cup earlier this year. He played I ran touch and then we ran up our credit cards shopping...."Oh those Girls...lol" Can't wait to see him ...of course I will have to wear a scarf when I see him because he so greatly adnmires the way I wear mine for some reason...lol So will post one more blog before I leave....just jiving tonight....

Rugby.....My favorite sport of all time(next to figure skating). The pic was taken earlier this year when I played on the Los Angeles Rebellion.

My out there sister from San Francisco was the one who was into rugby before me. Must have been that Irish guy she was with for a while. But , never knew what the big deal was. Until one fateful, 2005 Memorial day afternoon some little guy at the Abbey was yelling at me to see if I was an islander. I said that I was and he asked if I have ever considered playing rugby. Now mind you I had never ever did organized sports before like football , I was in marching band ( cymbals of all the weak ass instruments) so never considered it. It was hard enough to get behind organized religon than try to get behind organized sports. Well, to cut a long story short got totally hooked, made some great friends, drank alot of beer, got injured, & had a lot of fun. The only thing is I wish I had discovered this game earlier in life when I was younger and was more of a whore...lol So kidding okay not by much though.

Some things I miss like the cameraderie , the effort of pushing your body to it's limits. One thing though when you play on a gay rugby team is how much drama there is that can ensue. Today I went and watched my old team play another out of town gay team.Memories of my other friends that went on to other things was going through my mind. Granted I am not playing any more because I got a promotion and my world has turned upside down hour wise and responbility wise. But when we did play it was fun and I learned what rugby was all about from them and some straight friends who I played with last summer. But, the one thing that was still there was the drama.

There is this guy on the team we'll call him Kim, Kim was playing in the same position as me. When I went out injured . I got a little jealous because he got a lot of the glory for very little effort.Being the Capricorn I am I believe in how hard you work to earn your respect. To the point , he was lazy and he was on the board so the bitch had an opinon about everything. Now ,in the gay rugby world you have 2 types of guys , guys who want to play rugby because they like to play and guys who basically like to say at the bar "I play rugby" but on the field are just a hot mess. He would be in the latter. For some reason he approached me today and told me that he was thrown out of the first half for fighting. Mainly because the other team was throwing punches. Now, I havn't claimed that I played rugby all my life but, I do know that if guys fuck around on the field you don't whine about it you just get even. This is more of a mental game as well as physical. Believe me I had my share of nose raps , punches from a giant Tongan, etc. , but always figured out a way to outplay them in scrums.I actually gained a lot of respect from other teams tight five because of that. Had to explain to this photographer guy who was defending him that you just deal and you play. He was clutching his pearls when I said this for some reason as if I had just told them they were fake or something.

But , as I watched the second half, Kim went back in and he got all drama again with another of the visiting teams guys . I rolled my eyes, figuring he wanted to get thrown out so he wouldn't have to play the rest of the half. Made me wonder if I want to come back to this team.It is a great game to play, but too much drama on this team. But hey I love the coach dearly and he has taught me alot about the game and the more technical side of it . So would love to come train under him again. I've talked to some of the teams around the country and granted they all have Kim's on them. But, they all deal with them in their own ways...I think if I ever do come back to this team, and hear him whine about or not putting practice to good use( usually stands around), I will take my own advice and I will roll my eyes , sing a chorus of Hung Up and think about my friends who I had so much fun playing with before. ...... and in the end just deal.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN LADIES!
The first part of this blog is kind of a downer but, it gets happier towards the end, I promise!
So living and working in Los Angeles is a trip.

We all come here for different reasons. Some come here for fame, some transferred for work and some just come for the weather. I have discovered that most people come here with certain goals and usually want something from you. Not all of them mind you just the very select few. lol

Example I went on this great date with this guy the other morning. He had just moved here recently from another state and was telling me the same thing. He is studying to be a pharmacist and when guys find out what he does they are pretty ballsy and ask him for viagra( totally sad) , vicodin and etc.

I told him I have the same problem that when I tell people what I do for a living, they automatically ask me for a discount. Some are kidding some are not.....So what I am trying to say already.

That it is very hard to find real people in this town. I hate to be a downer but, it is very true. I thought I had come across some people who I thought were my friends, but screwed me over in the end...(and not in the good way Gurl...)LOL So I think I will be turning over a new leaf. I used to be very trusting but, Lord knows...(Scotti you understand this) I am becoming hard...Sad Gurl but true...LOL okay so no more downer stuff.

Let's talk about Halloween.....or in West Hollywood , the official gay holiday. The above picture is of me last year. NO, I was not a pirate but a gypsy, Gypsy Rose Lee to be exact. I had a lot of fun last year , but trying to figure out if I want to go out this year. I might have to be a beat up rugby player again this year . I have had a really bad 2 weeks in my store and" I need a drink Roz!" "ATTA GIRL!"LOL so hopefully I can go and party with peace of mind and just forget about stuff for a couple of hours

So want to see all these people from work in drag. I can never do drag, mainly because I would look like Magilla Gorilla in a dress. But I would love the accessories...LOL I would also have to buy an industrial size corset for my middle , probably at Sears in the Kenmore appliance section.
so I hope everyone has a safe Halloween and be careful getting home !

Okay, I have this friend who has a Blog and I found this kind of facinating .

I never ever got into this kind of thing before, always thought it was a waste of time. Until I started reading my friends from Philadelphia blog. It is kind of this cool voyeuristic thing where you just kind of sound off on your everyday life.

Ohhhhhh..BTW My name is Donald and I live in Los Angeles, okay West Hollywood to be exact. I am Samoan(very americanized!) 35 yrs old, 310 pounds (okay give or take some if my backfat is down) 6'4" , the details of hair and eyes are above. I have a great job , friends and family.

Spaeaking of Family , I am the youngest of 5 childeren. We are all grown up ranging from 45 to my young 35 (lol) There is 1 brother and 3 sisters whom I am close too . My mom lives in San Diego which is also where I also grew up. My father died when I was 15.

So that is the simple stats, probably will be posting a lot since this is cheaper than therapy...LOL. Going back to the title , I don't know what I am thinking. I used to lie a lot because I thiought I was a boring person, but looking at myself lately I have figured out that all of us are interesting in their own way.

So look out bloggers here comes something meatier!
